Staff AI Software Engineer (Barcelona)

We're looking for a Staff AI Software Engineer to help shape this transformation and lead the evolution of our platform into an AI-first ecosystem. What will you do? As a Staff AI Software Engineer, you will be responsible for defining how AI is built, adopted and scaled across the company. This is a highly strategic role where you'll combine hands-on engineering, architecture and technical leadership. Key responsibilities include Design and implement AI-driven architectures, agent systems and orchestration frameworks. Lead the adoption of Generative AI technologies across products and engineering teams. Build scalable AI-powered solutions using LLMs, RAG architectures and agent-based workflows. Drive AI initiatives from Proof of Concept to production-ready systems. Define technical standards, best practices and architectural guidelines for AI development. Act as a technical leader and mentor across multiple engineering teams. Improve engineering productivity through AI-powered development workflows and tooling. Collaborate directly with Product, Engineering and Leadership teams to identify high-impact AI opportunities. Requirements: 10+ years of experience in software engineering. Previous experience as a Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, Lead Engineer or similar technical leadership role. Strong experience designing scalable architectures and distributed systems. Expert knowledge of Node.js, TypeScript and modern backend architectures. Strong frontend experience with React. Hands-on experience building solutions with LLMs (GPT, Claude or similar). Experience with AI agents, RAG architectures, prompt engineering and AI orchestration frameworks. Strong experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures. Passion for emerging AI technologies and a proven track record of experimentation. Excellent communication skills and ability to influence technical decisions across teams.
