Research Trainee – Proteomics and Centrosome Biology …, Bellprat
Descripción
Research Trainee – Proteomics and Centrosome Biology The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The CRG is composed by an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team which is supported both by a adaptable and efficient administration and by high-end and innovative technologies. The Bettencourt‑Dias Laboratory at the CRG is seeking a motivated Research Trainee to join the team for a 3‑month period starting 15 July 2026. The trainee will contribute to investigate the proteostatic networks that govern centrosome homeostasis in health and disease. The position offers hands‑on experience in mass spectrometry‑based proteomics applied to centrosome biology. The trainee will develop and apply quantitative proteomics pipelines (SILAC pulse‑chase and DIA) to map the turnover of centrosomal proteins across the cell cycle, contribute to centrosome isolation via CAPture‑based enrichment, and perform bioinformatic analyses to integrate proteomic datasets with imaging data. About the lab The Bettencourt‑Dias Laboratory investigates how centrioles and centrosomes are built, maintained, and eliminated, and how their deregulation drives cancer and ciliopathies. The lab combines quantitative cell biology, super‑resolution microscopy, proteomics, and computational approaches. The group is based at the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB), within the CRG’s Programme on Quantitative Cell Biology, and is led by Dr. Mónica Bettencourt‑Dias. Professional Experience Must Have
- You have hands‑on experience with mass spectrometry‑based proteomics workflows, including data‑independent acquisition (DIA) and/or SILAC‑based approaches
- You are proficient in proteomics data analysis software (e.g., Spectronaut, FragPipe, or Proteome Discoverer) and scripting languages (Python and/or R) for statistical analysis and pipeline development
- You have a solid background in molecular and cellular biology and a genuine interest in cell biology and cancer research. You are fluent in English Desirable but not required / Nice to have
- Familiarity with bioinformatics tools for interactome or network analysis (e.g., STRING, Cytoscape, AlphaFold) would be valued Education and Training
- You hold a BSc or MSc degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Bioinformatics, or a closely related field Languages
- You are proficient in English (working language of the lab)
- Knowledge of Spanish or Catalan is helpful but not required Technical Skills
- You are experienced with proteomics software (Spectronaut, FragPipe, and/or Proteome Discoverer), and with Python and/or R for data analysis. Familiarity with Linux command‑line environments is an asset Competences
