Type New appointment Title Analyst specialyst in the sustainability assessment at the BETA Technology Centre Type of position FUB #Tipologia#: PTGAS Academic year: 2 Description The BETA Technology Centre comprises a young, multidisciplinary team of over 150 people and is seeking to recruit a dynamic individual with leadership skills and a desire to be part of this project. The successful candidate will join the "Sustainability Accounting and Optimisation" research group at the BETA Technology Centre as the scientific lead for tasks related to the sustainability assessment of various European projects, as well as some technology transfer projects with companies. We are looking for a specialist in sustainability assessment (economic, social and environmental), including life cycle analysis (LCA) as a core tool, in one of the following areas: analysis of new technologies and modelling of industrial processes, or analysis of agri-food systems. Responsibilities
- Lead implementer and person in charge of sustainability assessments for various European projects.
- Scientific lead and coordinator for industry-academia collaboration projects.
- Development of new projects with industry partners.
- Submission of new proposals to secure further European funding. Qualifications
- Degree in chemical engineering, biotechnology, biology, environmental science, economics or a related field.
- Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it.
- Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it.
- Advanced proficiency in life cycle assessment software, particularly OpenLCA (as well as Gabi, SimaPro or Brightway).
- Previous experience in delivering projects with the private sector.
- Knowledge of chemical engineering modelling software (such as Aspen Plus and/or Super Pro Designer).
- Programming skills (in R, Python, and others).
- Expertise in economic analysis and the transfer of new technologies.
- Advanced knowledge of life cycle analysis methodologies.
- Expertise in data processing and the compilation of inventories in the agri-food sector.
- PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biology, Environmental Sciences, Economics or similar fields.
- Experience in team leadership.
- Previous involvement in European projects.
