- Hybrid The Product Manager is accountable for the end-to-end lifecycle of technology products – from initial ideation and design through to delivery, deployment, and ongoing operations. In this role, you serve as a strategic bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams , ensuring that each product delivers tangible business value, aligns with EY’s strategic priorities, and contributes to the firm’s financial performance. You will collaborate closely with both regional and global teams. Your mission is to drive the adoption of global EY technology solutions within Europe West while also tailoring or developing products to meet specific regional needs. As Product Manager, you will champion these products within the organization, working to maximize user adoption and satisfaction in the region. Key Responsibilities
- Product Strategy & Vision: Co‑develop the product’s vision and strategy with business sponsors and service line leaders. Ensure the product roadmap aligns with EY’s strategic objectives and regional business needs. Translate high‑level business requirements into actionable product plans and measurable outcomes .
- End‑to‑End Product Lifecycle Management: Manage the full product lifecycle, including ideation, development, launch, and ongoing improvements. Coordinate with cross‑functional teams – such as designers, developers, project managers, and architects – to deliver product releases on time and within scope. Utilize agile methodologies and iterative development to ensure continuous improvement and fast value delivery.
- Bridge Between Global and Regional Technology: Act as a liaison between EY’s global technology initiatives and regional needs. Drive the local adoption of global technology platforms by the business, ensuring global tools (e.g., audit or tax software) are effectively rolled out in the region. Where gaps exist, lead the development of regional or local technology solutions, adapting products to comply with local regulations or languages as necessary.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as the product’s primary point of contact for all stakeholders. Work closely with business leaders to prioritise features and validate value delivery. Partner with technology teams (including the Regional Technology Hub, architecture, and infrastructure teams) to plan technical execution and support. Coordinate with EY’s global Client Technology, Enterprise Architecture, and InfoSec teams to ensure alignment with general standards and compliance requirements. Engage with user experience and engagement teams to gather feedback and drive user adoption efforts.
- Financial Management: Take ownership of the product’s financial performance. Define and manage the product budget and track costs versus benefits to ensure a positive return on investment. Monitor key financial metrics (e.g., budget vs. actual spend, ROI, and product P&L;) to maximise the value from EY’s technology investments. Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and, where applicable, support monetisation strategies for technology offerings.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure that all products under your management meet EY’s compliance standards and quality benchmarks. Coordinate with information security, data privacy, risk management, and legal teams to guarantee that solutions adhere to required security and regulatory requirements. Lead necessary product governance processes and reviews (such as architecture reviews or security assessments) to uphold high quality and compliance.
- User Adoption & Change Management: Drive user adoption and ensure an excellent end‑user experience. Work with Customer Experience (CX) and engagement teams to organise product demos, training sessions, and “champion” user groups. Collect user feedback regularly and translate insights into product enhancements that improve usability and satisfaction. Act as a technology evangelist , promoting the product’s value and success stories within the region. Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Approximately 4–7 years of experience in product management or closely related roles. This should include hands‑on experience managing technology products through their full lifecycle, ideally in a complex or global environment. Experience leading cross‑functional teams and coordinating multiple stakeholders is essential.
- Domain Knowledge: Background in or exposure to professional services (audit, tax, consulting) or enterprise software is advantageous but not mandatory . The ideal candidate can quickly learn new domain specifics and understand how technology can solve business problems.
- Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar). A combination of technical understanding and business acumen is key.
- Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to operate at a senior level, driving strategy as well as execution. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate product vision and requirements to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Comfortable collaborating in a matrix organisation and influencing senior leadership as well as team members.
- Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic and analytical thinking capabilities. Able to align product goals with larger business objectives and identify opportunities where technology can drive business value. Experience in developing product strategy and turning high‑level visions into concrete roadmaps and deliverables.
- Agile & Product Management Skills: Solid understanding of agile methodologies and product management best practices. Experience with product management tools (e.g., backlog management, road‑mapping software) and frameworks. Ability to prioritise effectively, manage sprint plans, and ensure continuous delivery of improvements.
- Financial Acumen: Comfort with budgeting and financial analysis for products. Capable of monitoring expenses, value, and ROI; ensuring that the product meets financial targets and contributes to the company’s financial performance.
- Technical Aptitude: A good grasp of technology concepts (software development processes, architecture basics, data considerations) to engage effectively with engineering and IT teams. While deep coding skills are not required, you should be able to understand technical trade‑offs and advocate for sound technical decisions that align with product goals.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in German or French is a strong plus. Knowledge of other European languages, such as Spanish or Italian , is appreciated.
- Cultural Fit: Experience working in an international or multi‑cultural environment. Willingness to occasionally travel if needed (for collaboration with global teams or stakeholders).
