The Production Planner is responsible for defining the daily, weekly, and monthly production plan and evaluating all the variables in the process and striving to ensure that production objectives are achieved. The production plans typically have a time horizon of about the 0-13 weeks and 1-15 months. This job contributes to Nutreco’s success by ensuring the high level of competence within the Supply area and ensure a smooth and cost-efficient flow of our production operations as an integrated part of the SC process]. The process of production planning aims to draw up, monitor and alter an optimal production plan for the assigned part of the supply network (operational and tactical horizon) based on the consolidated demand plans, taking into consideration predefined service level agreements, inventory levels and planning parameters to realise the requested performance at the lowest possible cost. The production planner is responsible for making, monitoring, and adjusting the detailed operational production planning for plant(s) based on a supply (network) plan in order to link with promised service levels. The Production Planner plays a crucial role as liaison between Demand Planning, who is the commercial liaison and Operations. The Material Planner is responsible for the timely arrangement of raw and auxiliary materials to be able to produce the optimal supply and production plan. Manages and controls inventory in his/her remit to ensure optimal stock levels purchased items are made available when required and without exceeding practical and financial limits or delaying customer orders. This job contributes to Nutreco’s success by ensuring a high level of competence within the Planning area. The process of material planning aims to draw up, monitor and alter an optimal material plan for the plant(s) production plan. Taking into consideration predefined service level agreements, inventory levels and planning parameters to realise the requested performance at the lowest possible cost. The Material Planner plays a crucial role as a liaison between Production Planning, Operations and Procurement / formulation. The Demand Planner is responsible for defining the monthly demand forecast for one or more product groups on a 1–15 month time horizon. To establish this forecast the Demand Planner must use a combination of statistical analysis of sales history, along with enrichment from sales. The enrichment from sales could include information such as sales promotions, new item introductions or customer losses. The Demand Plan/Forecast which is created is crucial input for the IBP process as it becomes the basis for assessing the ability to supply. Therefore, the Demand Planner plays a crucial role as a conduit between Sales and market prospects and Operations. Along with the monthly forecasting process, the Demand Planner is responsible for the in-depth analysis of forecast accuracy performance to identify how to improve forecast accuracy. Exploring different forecasting methods/techniques, how to use the Demand Planning software more effectively and other aspects that will improve the accuracy of the forecast. : JOB CONTEXT Production planning, Material Planning and Demand Plannig is a key role in the IBP process, as the forecast it delivers will enable operations to meet the production targets timely, efficient, and cost effective. The Production Planner combines variety of information from sales, supply chain / procurement, operations (timely, as accurate as possible, useable in qualitative and quantitative terms) in order to properly plan the products that need to be produced. The Production Planner delivers an important piece of information for the IBP cycle. The Production Planner role has typically a planning horizon of 1 to 15 months on monthly buckets and 3 months in weekly buckets The level of the role depends on the scope and complexity, based on number of customers and size & complexity of the product portfolio. - Creates the Production plans based on approved demand plan (forecast) which is enriched by inputs from the commercial teams; for the operational (0-13 weeks) and tactical horizon (1-15 months)
- Understand and anticipate on business developments and translate these into the Production plan: e.g. new product introductions, phase-in/out, events, seasonality, tenders, contracts.
- As approved by IBP cycle as well as follow the business priorities set, secure Production plan constraining in case of supply restrictions and share the results with internal stakeholders (e.g. Operations, Commercial, Demand Planning and customer service)

- Follow-up of the decisions/constraints from the IBP cycle of the organisation and/or supply points
- First point of contact for the Demand Planning team as well as Customer Service teams for the operational and/or tactical planning horizon
- Production scheduling (plan)
- Translates the Production plan / customer orders into an optimal production schedule for the various production processes (receival & dispatch, mixing and filling departments) in a planning tool for the operational horizon (week X
- X+1), considering the technical production & quality requirements and constraints
- Communicates detailed planning through M3 with supply & material planning, production, warehousing, maintenance & logistics to ensure an optimal service level & efficient usage of resources
- Continuously monitors production output to ensure that presente production meets scheduled production output and raise foreseen issues, advises corrective and preventive actions
- Adjusts production schedule and plan based on changes in the supply plan or real production output
