Job Location: Remote- but must be based within Spain. Deep Digital are seeking an experienced OT Data Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in bridging operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT). This position involves working cross-functionally with operations, engineering, automation, and IT/OT teams to deliver robust data solutions that support manufacturing and industrial processes. Responsibilities
- Drive OT Project Execution: Manage OT-related initiatives across design, installation, commissioning, and operational handover.
- Perform Acceptance Testing: Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) to validate control systems and ensure compliance with operational standards.
- Commissioning Leadership: Oversee commissioning activities for automation and control systems, ensuring seamless transition to production environments.
- Collaborate with Automation Teams: Work closely with control engineers, SCADA/PLC specialists , and OT integration experts to connect plant-floor systems.
- Data Integration for OT: Develop and maintain data flows between control systems and supervisory platforms (e.g., SCADA, MES), ensuring reliable real-time visibility.
- Cybersecurity & Compliance: Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures tailored for OT environments, aligned with industry regulations.
- Troubleshoot OT Systems: Investigate and resolve complex issues related to industrial data acquisition, historian systems, and control network performance.
- Mentor OT Engineers: Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior engineers in automation and OT domains.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records for configurations, commissioning procedures, and troubleshooting steps specific to OT systems.
- Quality: Comply with Deep Digitals Quality Management System requirements i.e. perform your work according to your process documents, procedures and maintaining document information/completing department forms/records as required. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven track record in OT projects , including FAT, SAT, commissioning, and handovers.
- Strong understanding of industrial control systems and OT network architectures.
- Working knowledge of DCS technologies such as:
- Emerson DeltaV
- Foxboro
- Siemens PCS7
- Experience with data integration between OT and IT systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. Preferred
- Familiarity with data historians , OPC protocols, and industrial IoT solutions.
- Knowledge of scripting or programming for data extraction and transformation. xbhjioe
