The Laboratory Technician I is responsible for conducting laboratory tests on petroleum, petrochemical products, biofuels, and solid fuels in accordance with standardized procedures (e.g., DIN, ASTM, ISO). The role includes ensuring compliance with safety regulations, documenting test results, calibrating equipment, and adhering to quality standards. This position requires attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to work adaptable hours, including weekends and night shifts.
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Perform tests according to standardized methods (DIN, ASTM, ISO) and work instructions.
- Conduct laboratory analyses on petroleum, petrochemical products, biofuels, and solid fuels.
- Accurately document test results using company software and established protocols.
- Perform equipment calibrations according to prescribed procedures.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks and maintain high-quality work standards.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills within the field.
- Follow company safety regulations and perform all tasks in a safe manner.
- To always respect and protect company and client confidentiality.
- Conduct all work in compliance with Core Lab’s quality assurance system.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to operational excellence.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Ideally, a technical or laboratory-based education.
- Experience in ICP/AAS, GC, and wet chemistry is an advantage.
- Basic proficiency in English and computer literacy.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Flexibility to work night shifts, weekends, and irregular hours as required.
- Capability to share knowledge and expertise with colleagues.

- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with laboratory sample handling and documentation.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- High levels of conscientiousness, honesty, punctuality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Willingness to participate in training courses as required.
